The Nyeri National Polytechnic seeks to recruit interested, dedicated and qualified candidates to fill the following posts for Technicians:

1. Electrical Engineering Technician

2. Electronics Engineering Technician

Minimum Requirements

• Be a KNEC Diploma holder in the relevant specialization.

• Must be below 45 years of age.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience preferably in a TVET training institution.

3. Dairy Processing Workshop Technician

Minimum Requirements

• Be a KNEC Diploma holder in Dairy Technology from a recognized tertiary institution or Diploma in Food Technology (KNEC examined)

• Must be below 45 years of age.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in dairy processing industry or a laboratory technician in a TVET institution.

• Experience in Food Quality management systems will be an added advantage.

4. Food Science Technician

Minimum Requirements

• Be a KNEC Diploma holder in Food Science Technology.

• Must be below 45 years of age.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience preferably in a TVET training institution.

In Compliance to article six {6} of the constitution of Kenya, all the applicants should provide;

• Valid certificate of good conduct

• Tax compliance certificate

• HELB clearance

• EACC compliance certificate

• CRB Clearance certificate

Responsibilities of all Technicians

  1. Providing technical support to the trainers and trainees.

  2. Maintaining workshop inventories by receiving, issuing tools and materials in the workshop

  3. Carrying out routine maintenance of machines and equipment

  4. Performing regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and workshop facilities.

  5. Preparing maintenance schedule for all the workshop equipment

  6. Observing and ensuring health and safety procedures are practiced and enforced in the workshop.

  7. Ensuring cleanliness of machines/equipment and orderly work areas
