The Nyeri National Polytechnic is an institution that is proud of its past, which is the foundation for the present and for what we project in the future.
The Origins Of NNP
The history of The Nyeri National Polytechnic dates back to 1977, when it was established by the Government of Kenya as Nyeri Technical Secondary School. By 1983, it had grown into a fully-fledged national technical secondary school.
Following education reforms, the institution later transitioned into a technical training college and, in 1986, became the Nyeri Technical Training Institute (NTTI), offering craft and technical programmes. In 2016, the institution was elevated to The Nyeri National Polytechnic through Legal Notice No. 91, marking a major milestone in its growth and national mandate in TVET training.
