At The Nyeri National Polytechnic Driving School
we offer NTSA Approved Driving course at affordable rates, and we are also NTSA accredited Training Centre for Driving Instructors.
Class C1: Light Trucks
Enables one to drive a light truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) exceeding 3500 kg and a maximum of 7500 kg with maximum one light trailer not exceeding 750 kg. Equipped with manual or automatic gear box
Class A2: Motorcycle Courses
Enables one to ride a ride motorcycle above 50cc
Can carry a maximum load of 60 Kg (for up to 400cc). Can carry a passenger.
Class B: Light Vehicles/Saloon Vehicles
Enables one to drive a light vehicle (passenger car) with a maximum Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 3500 kg with one light trailer (not exceeding 750 kg)
Can drive a vehicle equipped with both a manual or automatic gearbox. Can carry up to a maximum of 7 passengers
Driving School Instructor
We offer driving school instructor course in classes A2, B as well as C1. We strive to produce the most competent instructors in the region and for the whole nation. Join us today to get your career started off!
Refresher Course
Should you need to resharpen your skills, we offer refresher courses in classes A2, B as well as C1. The courses come at a pocket friendly fee as follows:
- Class C1- Ksh. 7,500 only.
- Class B1 – Ksh. 7,500 only.
- Class A2 – Ksh. 3,500 only.

Course Details
Monday to Friday – 8.00a.m To 6.00p.m
Saturday 8.00a.m to 2.00p.m
Full driving course has the following components;
- Theory classes/Highway code and Safety
- Practical driving
- General maintenance and repairs of vehicles
- Basic computer lessons
- Basic first aid and Fire

Join Our Driving School
The Polytechnic was accredited by the NTSA as a driving school in 2017 with a mandate to train drivers, offer refresher courses and train driving instructors. The driving school started in 2017 with a population of 30 trainees and since then, the institution has been able to train over 1800 drivers, offer refresher courses to over 1600 drivers and train over 52 driving school instructors.
We are licensed under category A, B and C driving classes.
