For All Your Agricultural Needs
The department has well established crop farm and livestock farm which are fully operational and skilled personnels are involved in running of day-to-day activities. We have aquaculture section, apiculture section and dairy processing plant. Our trainers are also involved to give experts advice in their areas of specialization to ensure best practices are used and maximum productivity is realized. The students are allocated with plots on which they carry out crop production practices on their own from soil management and fertilization, land preparation, planting/transplanting to management and harvesting and post harvesting management. In our livestock farm the students undertake livestock duties as part of routine livestock practices to ensure hands on skills are gained by our trainees. Our dairy processing plant ensures hands on skills are gained by our dairy processing students right from collection of milk to carrying out tests to ensure safety to processing and finally packaging.
Recognition of prior learning is also offered in the department for the dairy processing and dairy farm management courses.

The departments have experienced trainers in the agricultural field ready to skill and equip our trainees. We have veterinary surgeons and veterinary paraprofessionals who are registered by the Kenya veterinary board, agricultural biotechnologist and agronomists who are industry seasoned and TVETA accredited.
