The council is mandated to play the following key functions in the day-to-day running of the polytechnic:

Dr. David K. Gachuru , the Chairperson of the Nyeri National Polytechnic Council, holds a PhD in Business Administration in Strategic Management, Master in Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. He is a consultant in strategic management and Corporate Governance.

Dr. David M. Mwangi, the Chief Principal/Secretary to the Governing Council of the Nyeri National Polytechnic, holds a Masters in Purchasing and Supplies Management, Bachelors in Business Administration and Management. He is also the serving Chair of the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) and winner of the Principal of the Year Awards, 2023 edition.

Adv Mwai holds a degree in Law and a Diploma in Legal Education. She is a sole legal practitioner in the name of Lucy Mwai and Company Advocates – Nyeri.

Dr. Suge,a member of the Nyeri National Polytechnic Council, holds a PHD in leadership and a Degree in Community Development.

Mrs. Kavuha, a member of the Nyeri National Polytechnic Council, holds Masters in Human Resource Development and Bachelor of Education. She is a consultant in management.

Eng. Mutiria, a member of the Nyeri National Polytechnic Council, holds a Bachelor of Technology in Civil and Structural Engineering. He Works with Ministry of Public Works.

She is a Council Member representing the PS State Department for Technical Vocational Education & Training.
She holds a Master’s degree in Policy Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
She is the Director of the Planning and Project Monitoring Unit at the Ministry of Education, State Department for Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

He is a Council Member representing PS National Treasury and Planning.
He is the deputy director of ICT National Treasury and holds Masters in data communication

Council Member
Mr. Kebiro, a member of the Nyeri National Polytechnic Council, holds Bachelor of Business Administration with (IT) Finance Option, CPA-K – Certified Public Accountancy, CIFA – Certified Financial Analyst. He Works as an Accountant in Nyamira County.
