Head of Department's Message
The Health sciences department encompasses a variety of sub-disciplines, all of which relate to the application of science to health. Because humans have always needed to deal with illness, it could be said that health science has existed for as long as humans have. Health care is delivered through a variety of fields, including pharmacy, community health and it involves not only the treatment of illness, but also the prevention of it. Health care professionals aim to maintain the overall mental and physical well-being of patients.

Community Health Objectives
Create connections between vulnerable populations and healthcare providers. Help patients navigate healthcare and social service systems. Manage care and care transitions for vulnerable populations. Reduce social isolation among patients.

What We Offer
Graduates in pharmaceutical technology are highly sought after professional enrollment by the pharmacy and poisons board by potential employers in areas of applications such as in community pharmacies, government and private hospitals, health research institutions, pharmaceutical industries and in health educational trainings.
The community health workers (CHWs) support the community in many ways by providing outreach, maternity support, first aid, education, advocacy, and informal counseling. They are frontline public health workers who build relationships with the community to bring essential services to the people, rather than being based in a formal health facility.

The department maintains three laboratories, a pharmaceutical chemistry laboratory, pharmaceutics laboratory and a pharmacology laboratory.
