QUALITY MANAGEMENT REPRESENTATIVE
Ensuring Quality at Nyeri National Polytechnic: A Commitment to Excellence

QUALITY MANAGEMENT REPRESENTATIVE
At Nyeri National Polytechnic, quality is not just a concept—it is the backbone of every policy, practice, and process.
Guided by a robust framework of national and international standards, our Governing Council, Quality Assurance (QA) officers and ISO Management Representative Team work collaboratively to ensure that the institution not only meets but exceeds expectations in service delivery, academic excellence, and operational efficiency.
Standards and Frameworks That Guide Us
Nyeri National Polytechnic is firmly grounded in the following quality frameworks:
- ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems): This standard ensures that all institutional processes are documented, monitored, and continuously improved. Our QA team oversees internal audits, risk-based thinking, and stakeholder engagement to maintain a customer-focused, efficient, and transparent system. We are currently preparing for re-certification.
- ISO 21001:2018 (Educational Organizations Management Systems): Our institution is currently preparing for surveillance Audit by KEBs, seeking certification in this education-specific standard to enhance learning outcomes, curriculum relevance, learner satisfaction, and inclusivity. This helps us tailor education delivery to diverse learner needs while upholding accountability.
- ISO/IEC 27001:2013 (Information Security Management Systems): With increasing reliance on digital systems, we are committed to safeguarding institutional and learner data. Our management ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets through structured risk assessments and ICT controls. We are currently preparing for certification in ISO/IEC 27001:2022
- TVETA Regulations: As a registered Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution, compliance with the TVETA Quality Standards is mandatory. QA officers coordinate internal self-assessments, staff licensing, curriculum validation, and infrastructure audits in line with TVETA requirements.
- Nyeri National Polytechnic Academic Policy: This policy provides a comprehensive guide to teaching, assessment, progression, and academic integrity. It ensures fairness, consistency, and quality in academic decisions across all departments.
- Competence Based Assessment (CBA) Framework: Management works to ensure that learners are assessed in accordance with industry-relevant skills and standards. QA supports the development and moderation of competence-based tools to enhance learner readiness for the job market.
