Welcome Message
We welcome you to the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. This is one of the four Engineering departments at the Nyeri National Polytechnic. We offer training under the following broad sections:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Medical Engineering
The Department is currently offering Competency-based Education and Training (CBET) courses that are geared towards industrial needs.
Currently the department has a committed staff, comprising both male and female trainers. We also have qualified technicians who are well-equipped with the relevant knowledge and technical skills. We strive to equip our trainees with the appropriate knowledge, skills and attitude so that they become well-rounded Engineering Craftsmen/technicians/ technologists who will not only be technically fit but also disciplined and morally upstanding in their place of work.
Our graduates find employment in the following sectors:
- Kenya Power & Lighting Company
- Manufacturing Industries
- Electrical Power Producing companies
- Medical facilities
- Telecommunication firms
Department's Objective
To train students well equipped with skills and Knowledge in areas of specialization.
Department's Goals
- To provide a foundation for the student to develop an appreciation and an understanding of the principles of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- To provide practical exposure to our students through modern laboratories.
- To create technical awareness among the students through special lectures from resource persons and industrial training and in-plant training.
